Instead of finding another guy that hates the Fast and Furious squad, Universal has decided to bring back a former villain – a guy that pissed off the entire team and even killed one of them: Deckard Shaw.
“We’re already talking about doing another one, Part Eight,” Jason Statham toldAccess Hollywood. “I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.”
Furious 7 was mainly set in Los Angeles, with brief scenes in locations all around the world, and now Fast and Furious 8 is taking things to the east coast, to New York.
Here’s a story I would like to see happen for the next movie: Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) awakes from his coma and breaks out his brother, Deckard (Statham), from prison and forms a massive Fast and Furious villain team with Braga (John Ortiz) and whomever else is willing to join. Then, it will actually be the Fast and Furious team versus a team of people that hate them. It will be Universal’s version of The Avengers, and I’ll be waiting in line to see it!
Fast and Furious 8 does not yet have a director nor a title, but it does have a release date: April 14, 2017.
